As a manufacturer of capital goods and provider of maintenance for industry, DPS is focused along the following lines:

Ship Building

Specializing in commercial vessels up to 8,000 DWT (especially tankers, container ships. bulk carrier and barges, etc) and specialized ships up to 1,500 BRT (including tug boats, fishing vessels, ferries and others)

Ship Repair

Including dry-dock repairs, floating repairs, and running repairs of various types vessels up to 10,000 DWT, such as : passenger ships, tankers, cargo vessels, tug boats, supply vessels, ferry-boats, navy vessels, and others.

Ship Conversion

Ship conversion has become our core business since 1994. As a recent example, the company has successfully converted five cargo vessels (of over 7,500 DWT each) to bulk cement carriers complete with the latest loading and unloading technology.

Offshore Construction and Steel Structure Fabrication

Including living quarters, platforms and heliports, ship components, crane fabrication/assembly, pipelines and other steel works related to our core competence

Design and Engineering

The design center not only provides design and drawing for our own production, but also receives orders from other shipyard or companies for ship design and general engineering projects. The design facility is supported by most widely used CAD/CAM software system in the shipyards, such as Tribon, that enables us to integrate hull construction simultaneously with outfitting, leading to the implementation of integrated hull construction, outfitting and painting (IHOP)

Quality Control & Assurance

As stated in DPS’s Quality Policy, our commitment to customer’s satisfaction and quality begins with fulfilling the ISO 9001 International Standard on all our products. We have implemented accuracy control system to maintain dimensional accuracy and minimize reworks. As part of our QA/QC programs, we maintain experienced and highly trained inspectors to keep the production process moving smoothly, on schedule, and in keeping with both Classification Society’s rules and our customer’s requirements.

Research & Development

To strengthen our competitive advantage in both regional and global market, we work together with researches and consulting institutes, such as the National Ship Design and Engineering Center (NaSDEC), the Indonesian Hydrodynamics Laboratory (LHI-BPPT), as well as with foreign experts in developing new technologies and innovation in design and production. Development of spoon bow for barge’s form and its maneuvering characteristics at sea is an example of our R&D activity.
